The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Business Litigation Associate to join its growing team in Houston or The Woodlands, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation attorney with 3-5 years of experience who is looking to take on substantive responsibility, work closely with experienced litigators, and handle sophisticated commercial disputes across a variety of industries.
The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, outstanding writing skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and argue motions in state and federal courts.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex legal issues.
- Manage written discovery, document review, and production.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Draft pleadings, briefs, and other litigation-related filings.
- Participate in case strategy development and client communications.
- Assist with the handling of complex business disputes from inception through resolution.
- Support matters involving real estate litigation and eminent domain issues, as applicable.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar or eligible for admission.
- 3-5 years of business litigation experience in a law firm setting.
- Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing motions and taking depositions.
- Strong background in legal research, discovery, document review, and pleadings.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong academic credentials required.
- Experience with real estate litigation is preferred but not required.
- Prior exposure to eminent domain matters is a plus.
