The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Transactions + Compliance Counsel to join their Pittsburgh office. This is a hands‑on, strategic role reporting directly to the General Counsel. You will provide legal and compliance support across all business functions within a fast‑growing renewable energy developer and asset manager. The position is fully on‑site, with 4 days in the office and 1 remote day per week, with reasonable flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on a broad range of issues supporting renewable energy development, asset management, and corporate functions.
- Manage the legal contract review and approval process across the organization.
- Support and help manage corporate governance activities.
- Draft, implement, and maintain legal and compliance policies, processes, and tools.
- Train and educate internal teams on legal and compliance best practices.
- Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with project contracts, debt agreements, and other regulatory obligations, including tracking deliverables and responding to material events.
- Contribute to risk mitigation strategies and compliance oversight during project execution.
- From time to time, advise on complex business transactions such as project acquisitions and oversee outside counsel as needed.
- Draft, negotiate, and interpret a variety of commercial agreements, including sales, supply, consulting, and non‑disclosure agreements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Legal & Compliance function.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing.
- 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney; in‑house experience strongly preferred.
- Strong background in contracts and commercial transactions.
- Experience in the renewable energy industry is a significant plus.
- Excellent communication, project management, and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to work onsite in the Pittsburgh office 4 days per week.
