Real Estate Finance Attorney
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our Real Estate Finance practice in New York. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of experience representing banks, private credit lenders, and other financial institutions in lending transactions involving a wide variety of credit facilities and real estate assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent banks, private credit lenders, and other financial institutions in real estate finance and commercial lending transactions, including:
- Construction, permanent, and mezzanine loans
- Credit tenant lease and synthetic lease transactions
- Securitizations and subscription financings
- Acquisitions and dispositions of mortgage portfolios and real estate assets
- Structure, draft, review, and negotiate documentation for a wide variety of credit facilities
- Conduct due diligence, market research, and knowledge management to support client transactions
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of deal closings, including preparation and review of closing checklists and documentation
- Advise clients on structuring, compliance, and risk management
- Support partners and senior associates with research, drafting, and client communications
- Participate in knowledge management initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices within the group
- Assist with workouts, restructurings, and foreclosures of non-performing loans as needed
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- 2-6 years of relevant experience in real estate finance, commercial lending, or transactional law
- Experience representing banks, private credit lenders, or other financial institutions in lending transactions
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Member in good standing of the New York Bar (or eligible to waive in)
