Real Estate Attorney
A highly regarded client in the Charlotte area is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Real Estate Attorney to join their expanding legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience representing in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions and development matters. This role requires a deep understanding of real estate law, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex legal issues related to property acquisition, leasing, financing, and land use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent matters with acquisition, disposition, and development of commercial real estate assets.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, subleases, easements, declarations, condominium documents, and other real estate-related agreements.
- Advise on title matters, including title insurance, encumbrances, and resolution of title defects.
- Negotiate and draft commercial loan documents, including construction loans, permanent financing, and refinancing agreements.
- Provide counsel on land use, zoning, and condemnation issues, including representation before governmental and regulatory bodies.
- Advise clients on tax-deferred exchanges (1031 exchanges), opportunity zone investments, and other real estate-related tax strategies.
- Draft and negotiate joint venture agreements and other partnership arrangements related to real estate development and investment.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the North Carolina state bar or ability to waive in.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate law.
- Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, leasing, financing, and land use regulations.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex transactions and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
