Litigation Counsel
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to manage and oversee legal matters related to property and casualty insurance claims. This role will focus on defending the company in coverage disputes, bad faith claims, and subrogation matters, while also supporting strategic litigation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in insurance law, strong litigation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Litigation Counsel - Key Responsibilites:
- Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters involving property and casualty insurance claims, including coverage disputes, bad faith allegations, and subrogation actions.
- Provide legal guidance to claims adjusters and management on coverage issues, litigation risk, and settlement strategy.
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings as needed.
- Review and draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Monitor legal developments in insurance law and advise on regulatory compliance.
- Support internal investigations and respond to subpoenas and regulatory inquiries.
- Develop and implement litigation strategies to reduce exposure and improve outcomes.
Litigation Counsel - Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing of the Florida Bar
- 7+ years of litigation experience, first chair trial experience prefered
- Strong understanding of insurance coverage, claims handling, and bad faith litigation.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters and collaborate across departments.
