Employment Counsel - Fortune 500 Retailer

A family owned, turned publicly traded Consumer Goods Retails is looking to hire a Labor and Employment Counsel. This highly revered Fortune 500 Company is continuing to grow rapidly, opening up hundreds of stores across the United States. Joining this company would mean stepping into a dynamic, culture-first, hardworking team who values the skills you bring.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise HR departments and other business partners in regards to labor, employment, and benefits
  • Develop and manage policies. Provide educational materials
  • Strategically advise business units from a labor and employment perspective
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts
  • Work with outside clients like vendors and distribution centers
  • Manage outside counsel for litigation matters

Requirements:

  • JD from accredited law school
  • 3+ years of experience in the labor and employment space, in-house experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience could be considered for Senior Legal Counsel title
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
  • 5 days a week in-office in Greater Houston
