Commercial Disputes Attorney
A leading client is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Commercial Disputes practice in the Portland office. This is an exciting opportunity for a litigation attorney with a strong foundation in managing complex cases and a passion for delivering impactful legal solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Develop and execute case strategies in collaboration with team members.
- Manage discovery, including depositions and witness interviews.
- Represent clients in court by preparing and arguing motions and briefs.
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients.
- Stay informed on legal trends and best practices.
- Support business development through client engagement and networking.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing; admission in California or Washington is a plus.
- 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in commercial disputes.
- Strong legal writing, research, and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience with e-discovery tools is preferred.
