Commercial Litigation Associate
Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Commercial Litigation Associate to join its growing Atlanta office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to handle sophisticated litigation matters across a broad range of practice areas, including commercial disputes, insurance coverage litigation, class actions, and construction-related matters.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing litigation matters from inception through resolution and will be comfortable taking on significant responsibility in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts.
- Handle insurance coverage analysis, coverage disputes, and bad faith litigation.
- Defend and prosecute class action matters.
- Manage a diverse caseload involving:
- Breach of contract disputes
- Business torts
- Fiduciary duty claims
- Partnership and shareholder disputes
- Construction litigation
- Trade secret and restrictive covenant matters
- Real estate disputes
- Other complex commercial litigation matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, insurance coverage opinions, and other legal filings.
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
- Take and defend depositions, participate in hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Work directly with clients and opposing counsel throughout all phases of litigation.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- 4-7 years of experience in commercial litigation, insurance coverage litigation, construction litigation, or a related practice area.
- Prior law firm experience required.
- Experience handling matters through all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Experience drafting insurance coverage opinions is a plus.
- Federal and state court experience preferred.
- Active admission to the Georgia Bar required.
