Belgian Market Legal/Wealth Planning

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Monitoring

  • Track developments in legal and tax regulations across European markets, with a strong focus on Belgium, and assess their impact on the company's life‑insurance activities, especially LPS distribution.

Product Development & Documentation

  • Participate in the design and review of life‑insurance products, including drafting and reviewing contractual and commercial documents intended for clients and partners.

Internal Advisory Support

  • Assist the Commercial Department and other internal teams with daily legal questions related to insurance operations, partner queries, and administrative processes.

Claims & Complaints Handling

  • Support or lead the handling of complaints and claims, including preparing the associated legal and tax analyses.

Legal & Tax Analysis

  • Perform legal and tax research, prepare opinions, and support patrimonial / wealth‑structuring requests relevant to Belgian clients.

Drafting Legal Instruments

  • Draft and review a variety of legal documents:
    • Contracts
    • Mandates
    • "Pacte adjoint" documents
    • Other legal agreements tied to life‑insurance structuring

Regulatory Communication

  • Keep internal teams informed of essential legislative and regulatory changes, ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant legal standards.


Profile & Requirements

Experience

  • Ideally 2-3 years of experience in Luxembourg life insurance, especially within legal or tax-focused roles (strong advantage).

Education

  • Master's degree in Law (Master 2 / LL.M.).

Languages

  • Dutch: native level (mandatory)
  • Good knowledge of French and English
  • Any additional language is an asset

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of wealth and estate planning within the context of life‑insurance policies.
  • Strong skills in legal analysis, synthesis, and drafting.
