Assistant General Counsel - Leading Real Estate Development Firm
We are currently partnered with a leading developer of both commercial and residential real estate that is looking to bring an Assistant General Counsel on the join their dynamic legal team in the Greater Chicago area. This role offers the ability to work on a variety of matters related to commercial real estate, with the expectation that this individual will step into the General Counsel position in the near future. The attorney in this seat will play a huge part in the continued growth of an already established leader in the space for more than three decades.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and analyze legal issues and present clear recommendations to the General Counsel and executive team
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and residential lease agreements, development agreements, and financial agreements
- Negotiate, draft, and review various real estate transactional agreements and managing real estate transactions from inception through post closing
- Draft and negotiate various commercial contracts while streamlining the commercial contracting process
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- 7+ years of experience
- Strong knowledge of both commercial and residential real estate transactional matters
- Ability draft, review, and negotiate both transactional real estate documents and various commercial contracts
- Proven track record of handling large commercial and residential leases
