About the Opportunity
A fast-growing fintech firm is seeking a General Counsel to lead critical negotiations and provide strategic legal guidance. This is an exceptional role for a Counsel with fintech experience who wants to combine legal expertise with operational impact. As the first legal hire on the team, this individual will play a key role in scaling the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate credit and financing agreements
- Manage relationships with custodians and address broker-dealer registration inquiries
- Collaborate with external counsel on complex legal matters
- Integrate legal insights into business strategies
- Ensure compliance across tax, securities, and corporate law
Ideal Candidate
- J.D. Top Law School
- 5+ years of experience at a Top Tier Law Firm or relevent in-house experince
- Fintech experience a plus
- Open to working on a small, highly skilled team
- Able to work with the business side and collaborate with important stakeholders
- Willingness to learn new skills and be adaptable to the growth of the firm
- Strong knowledge of tax law, securities law, and corporate financing agreements
- Skilled in relationship management and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to combine legal expertise with operational insight
- Excellent communicator with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset
