A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced real estate attorney to support one of the industry's largest and most sophisticated corporate real estate portfolios.
This is a unique opportunity to move beyond traditional law firm practice and become a strategic legal advisor to a global real estate platform spanning 100+ locations across 30+ countries and more than 7 million square feet of office and operational space worldwide.
Working directly with senior business leadership, you will advise on high-value leasing transactions, acquisitions and dispositions, portfolio optimization initiatives, landlord matters, cross-border projects, and the real estate aspects of corporate transactions. You'll have front-row exposure to business strategy and the opportunity to influence decisions impacting a global footprint across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead negotiations for complex commercial leasing transactions domestically and internationally
- Advise on acquisitions, dispositions, workplace strategy, and portfolio optimization initiatives
- Support real estate diligence and integration efforts related to M&A and corporate restructuring activity
- Manage outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions
- Counsel business stakeholders on legal, regulatory, operational, and risk-related real estate matters
- Develop practical solutions that balance commercial objectives with legal and governance requirements
Ideal Background
- 5+ years of commercial real estate legal experience
- Experience negotiating leases and other sophisticated real estate transactions
- Exposure to acquisitions, dispositions, or broader corporate transactions
- Strong business judgment and stakeholder management skills
- Interest in transitioning from private practice into a highly visible in-house role, or prior in-house real estate counsel experience
