IP Counsel @ AI Infrastructure Company
Our client is a privately held AI Infrastructure company seeking an Intellectual Property Counsel to help develop and execute its global intellectual property strategy. This attorney will partner closely with technical, product, and business stakeholders to identify, protect, and leverage key innovations while supporting ongoing growth initiatives.
This role reports into the General Counsel and will work closely with senior leadership across the business.
Responsibilities
- Manage and expand the company's patent portfolio, including invention harvesting, prosecution strategy, and competitive landscape analysis.
- Partner with technical teams to identify and protect innovative technologies.
- Support intellectual property aspects of licensing agreements, strategic partnerships, joint development arrangements, and commercial transactions.
- Conduct IP due diligence for strategic business initiatives and transactions.
- Advise on patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and open-source matters.
- Provide practical risk assessments and freedom-to-operate guidance.
- Manage outside counsel and support IP-related disputes when necessary.
- Develop internal intellectual property training and awareness programs.
Qualifications
- J.D. and active U.S. bar membership.
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Prior Big Law experience required.
- In-house experience preferred.
- Experience managing patent portfolios and supporting technology transactions.
- Experience supporting AI Infrastructure/Data Center/Semiconductor technology businesses preferred.
- Ability to provide practical guidance in a fast-paced environment.
