A publicly traded technology company is seeking an experienced General Counsel to join its executive leadership team.
This is a unique opportunity to serve as a strategic legal partner to senior leadership and the Board of Directors while helping shape the legal, governance, compliance, and commercial framework of an innovative business operating in a rapidly evolving sector of the technology market.

The Opportunity
The General Counsel will serve as the company's chief legal advisor and a key member of the executive leadership team. This individual will partner closely with executives across the organization, providing practical legal guidance that supports business growth, operational excellence, and strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate combines deep public company expertise with strong business judgment, executive presence, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as principal legal advisor to the executive leadership team and Board of Directors.
- Lead corporate governance, Board support, and public company legal matters.
- Advise on securities law, SEC reporting obligations, disclosure matters, and governance best practices.
- Provide legal guidance on strategic transactions, financings, commercial agreements, and business initiatives.
- Oversee legal support across commercial contracting, procurement, employment, compliance, privacy, and operational matters.
- Develop and enhance legal processes, policies, and risk management programs.
- Manage outside counsel relationships and legal spend.
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, operations, product, technology, and corporate teams.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- 15+ years of legal experience.
- Significant public company legal experience, including securities law, governance, SEC reporting, and Board support.
- Demonstrated experience advising executive leadership teams and Boards of Directors.
- Strong corporate, commercial, and transactional experience.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance legal risk with practical business objectives.
Preferred Experience
- Current or former Public Company General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, or Senior Legal Executive
- Experience supporting technology, cloud infrastructure, digital infrastructure, semiconductors, data centers, or other highly technical businesses.
- Experience operating within high-growth, innovative, or publicly traded environments.
- San Francisco Bay Area presence required.
Compensation
