Head of Legal at Series B AI Startup
This is 5-day onsite role in NYC.
Larson Maddox is engaged on a Head of Legal (1st Legal Hire) search with a recently funded and rapidly scaling AI startup based in NYC. This role is fully on site in NYC and will be tasked with leading legal activity with heavy concentration on commercial growth and deals, owning everything on the GTM side. The business is backed by well known and successful investors and is being led by an executive function full of impressive big tech and startup qualifications.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the commercial function - handling a high volume of enterprise customer and parentship agreements
- Working alongside the GTM teams on all related matters
- Be able to put playbooks and processes in place to streamline the legal function and embed with the business properly
- Work alongside product and engineering teams for all matters related to trust, safety, fraud, as well an ensuring overall compliance within the products
- Support corporate and strategic matters as the business grows
Ideal Background
- JD required
- 5-10+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally with a mix of time spent at a top law firm and in house across the tech sector
- Experience negotiating large scale deals and heavy volume
- Experience working in high growth tech startup, helping scale the legal function
