Director, Patent Attorney- Genetic Medicines (CRISPR)

Responsibilities
- Own and lead global patent strategy across core genetic medicine platforms and clinical‑stage programs
- Partner closely with research and development teams to identify and protect novel scientific innovations
- Direct U.S. and international patent drafting, filing, and prosecution through external counsel
- Oversee freedom‑to‑operate analyses, patent landscapes, and risk assessments tied to development priorities
- Support IP‑related diligence, transactions, and dispute‑related matters as needed
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a life sciences discipline (e.g., molecular biology, genetics, immunology, or related field)
- J.D. with admission to the USPTO and licensure in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years of biotechnology patent law experience, with strong biological patent drafting and prosecution training
- Proven ability to independently manage sophisticated patent portfolios in complex scientific areas
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across scientific and business teams
