Lead Legal Counsel
This role will serve as a trusted legal partner to the business, providing broad, hands‑on support across commercial contracting, litigation management, compliance, corporate governance, and employment matters. The Senior In‑House Counsel will advise executive leadership on legal and regulatory risk, collaborate closely with cross‑functional and global stakeholders, and help drive practical, business‑focused solutions in a dynamic logistics and transportation environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including transportation, logistics (air, ocean, NVOCC, 3PL/4PL), warehousing, real estate leases, and equipment financing.
- Manage litigation and pre‑litigation matters efficiently, balancing risk, cost, and business objectives.
- Advise executive and senior leadership on legal, regulatory, and compliance risks affecting business operations and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support corporate compliance efforts, including policy implementation and training for internal stakeholders.
- Assist with corporate governance matters, including entity management, resolutions, consents, and shareholder requirements.
- Provide legal support on labor and employment matters in partnership with Human Resources.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and global stakeholders, monitoring legal and industry trends that may impact the business.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
