About the Role
The Global Head of Legal (International) is a senior leadership position responsible for defining and executing legal strategy across all markets outside mainland China. Acting as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, you will ensure legal alignment with Group HQ, safeguard the brand, and enable international growth. This role bridges global strategy with local execution while maintaining strong collaboration with the China legal team.
Key Responsibilities
Global Legal Strategy & Alignment
Drive a consistent legal framework across all international markets, ensuring full alignment with Group HQ and preventing fragmentation. Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership on key decisions.
Cross-Border Risk & Governance
Lead complex cross-border legal matters, including regulatory conflicts, trade issues, and disputes. Provide clear, practical solutions balancing risk and commercial priorities.
Retail, Omnichannel & Commercial Support
Support global retail expansion, including leasing, e-commerce, and omnichannel models. Advise on marketing, consumer protection, and data privacy (including GDPR). Lead negotiations for franchise, distribution, and key commercial agreements.
IP & Brand Protection
Oversee international trademark coordination and enforcement. Drive anti-counterfeiting efforts and protect brand integrity across markets.
Supply Chain, ESG & Logistics
Ensure compliance with LkSG and EU ESG frameworks across the value chain. Support logistics infrastructure and sustainability initiatives, including green supply chain projects.
International Collaboration
Maintain strong alignment with the China legal team on shared priorities such as brand protection and cross-border data topics.
Your Profile
Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist) with 10+ years' experience, including senior in-house leadership roles. Strong background in international commercial law, retail, or consumer sectors. Pragmatic, business-oriented mindset with excellent stakeholder management skills. Fluent in German and English, with strong cross-cultural awareness.
