Global Telecomms Company - Contracts Counsel
A leading company at the forefront of wireless technologies is expanding its legal function and looking to bring on a Counsel to join the team. This individual would work directly with the Senior Corporate Counsel and handle commercial contracts, assist with compliance matters, and collaborate with cross-functional units on business and compliance needs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in commercial contracts and proven experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced environments. This role would sit out of the company's global headquarters in Onondaga County, NY.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support on commercial transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts (e.g., procurement, sales, licensing, partnership agreements).
- Advise on legal risks and mitigation strategies related to business operations and strategic transactions
- Collaborate with sales, finance, and product teams to align legal advice with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and legal policies to improve efficiency and consistency
Key Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial law, ideally in the Telecomms or Technology sector
- Strong foundation in commercial negotiation and ability to thrive in fast-paced, global environments
- Experience working with privacy laws and regulations is a plus.
- JD from an accredited law school
