Senior Counsel / Senior Investment Funds Lawyer | Baar (Zug), Switzerland
Our client, a leading global private markets investment platform, is seeking an experienced Senior Investment Funds Lawyer to join its structuring team based in Zug, Switzerland.
This is a senior, high-impact role with a strong focus on fund formation, documentation strategy and execution, operating across a global investor base.
The role
This position combines technical depth with strategic ownership and team leadership responsibilities:
- Owning and developing fund formation templates, precedents and documentation standards used globally
- Leading the drafting, review and negotiation of fund formation and separate account documentation (LPAs, PPMs, IMAs, side letters, etc.)
- Advising on the structuring and formation of private markets products for international investors
- Working closely with internal stakeholders across legal, investment, tax, compliance and client teams
- Coordinating external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
- Mentoring and developing junior lawyers, helping build capability and consistency across the team
Candidate profile
- Qualified lawyer (preferably UK or US) with 12+ years' experience in private markets, with a strong focus on fund formation
- Deep experience drafting and negotiating fund and separate account documentation
- Proven ability to lead transactions and manage complex workstreams independently
- Exposure to key fund jurisdictions such as Luxembourg, Cayman, Delaware or Guernsey
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to operate in a global, institutional investor environment
- Experience mentoring and developing junior colleagues
