A leading national law firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Transactional Tax Attorney to join its dynamic and growing tax practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney who thrives in complex, high‑value transactional work and enjoys serving as a strategic advisor to sophisticated corporate, private equity, and institutional clients. The firm offers a strong platform, cross‑departmental collaboration, and long‑term career mobility - with no expectation of a portable book of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on the federal, state, and international tax aspects of complex business transactions, including:
    • Mergers & acquisitions (public and private)
    • Joint ventures and strategic partnerships
    • Private equity and venture capital transactions
    • Corporate restructurings and reorganizations
    • Financings and capital markets transactions
  • Provide tax structuring guidance to corporate, fund, and financial institution clients.
  • Draft and negotiate tax provisions in transactional agreements.
  • Conduct tax due diligence and coordinate with deal teams across practice areas.
  • Work directly with partners, clients, and cross‑functional stakeholders to support fast‑moving transactions.
  • Stay current on tax law developments and provide proactive guidance on emerging issues.
  • Mentor junior associates as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; LL.M. in Tax is strongly preferred but not required.
  • 6-12+ years of experience in transactional tax within a major law firm, boutique tax practice, or comparable environment.
  • Strong technical background in corporate taxation and transactional tax planning.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work seamlessly with transactional teams.
  • Admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (or ability to become admitted promptly).
