Position Overview
The successful candidate will manage a diverse transportation litigation caseload involving trucking, logistics, commercial transportation, and related casualty matters. This attorney will work closely with clients, develop litigation strategies, and collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex litigation matters through all stages of the case lifecycle
- Conduct legal research and analysis related to transportation, trucking, and regulatory issues
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, and legal memoranda
- Take and defend depositions and attend hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings
- Develop case strategies and provide practical recommendations to clients
- Negotiate settlements and favorable resolutions on behalf of clients
- Prepare detailed case assessments and litigation reports for client stakeholders
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff across practice groups and office locations
- Monitor developments affecting the transportation and logistics industries and advise clients accordingly
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active Texas law license in good standing
- 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably involving transportation, trucking, logistics, or casualty matters
- Trial experience required
- Strong deposition and motion practice experience
- First-chair or second-chair trial experience preferred
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry-specific legal issues is highly desirable
- Experience handling matters involving e-commerce, delivery platforms, or emerging transportation models is a plus
- Excellent written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage a substantial caseload while maintaining exceptional client service
