Mid Level ECVC Associate Attorney (3-5 years) - California (Silicon Valley, SF, LA)
Corporate Associate (Mid-Senior Level) - Emerging Companies & Venture Capital
Bay Area (Mountain View or San Francisco), Seattle, or Santa Monica | Hybrid
A firm highly recognized for its work in the Tech and Life Sciences space and ranked as one of the best law firms for Emerging Growth and Venture Capital transactions is seeking mid‑ to senior‑level Corporate Associates (3+ years) to join its Emerging Companies & Venture Capital (EC/VC) practice. The corporate group advises high‑growth companies at all stages - from early startups to mature, publicly traded corporations - across a wide range of innovative industries.
This is a rare opportunity to gain hands‑on deal experience, work closely with highly accessible partners, and advise market‑leading technology and life sciences clients in a collaborative, California‑forward environment.
The Opportunity
Associates are brought meaningfully closer to the deals than in traditional Big Law models. You'll take on real responsibility early, gain deep execution experience, and work directly with partners who are highly engaged in training and mentorship.
This role is ideal for attorneys seeking sophisticated work, strong deal exposure, and a supportive, relationship‑driven culture, without the intensity often associated with traditional large law firms.
What You'll Do
- Advise emerging growth companies and founders on formation, venture financings, governance, and scaling
- Represent venture capital firms in early‑ and later‑stage investments
- Handle high‑quality M&A and/or capital markets matters (experience a plus)
- Work directly with clients operating at the forefront of technology and life sciences
- Take ownership of significant aspects of transactions from start to finish
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in a sophisticated corporate law practice
- Focus on emerging companies, venture capital, or startup representation
- Experience with or strong interest in technology and/or life sciences companies
- M&A and/or capital markets experience is a plus
- Excellent academic credentials and strong oral and written communication skills
- In‑house candidates welcome with prior law firm experience
- Admission (or eligibility to sit/waive) in the applicable jurisdiction
Why This Platform Stands Out
- Hands‑On Deal and client Exposure: Associates are directly involved in deal execution and strategy-not just support
- Associate‑Empowered Staffing: Relationship‑driven model where associates can choose their work and client exposure based on what they enjoy doing the most
- Hybrid Flexibility: 3 days/week in office with real autonomy and collaboration
- Culture & Community: Relaxed, California‑inspired culture with accessible partners and a strong associate network
- Mentorship & Training: Structured, stage‑specific mentorship with a strong emphasis on in‑house development
