Head of Compliance - MSO License
Our client, a fast-growing European fintech startup focused on cross-border money transfers, is seeking a Head of Compliance to lead its regulatory efforts in Hong Kong. This is a foundational hire as the company prepares to obtain its MSO license and build its Asia presence.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all compliance activities for the Hong Kong entity, including MSO license application and ongoing regulatory obligations.
- Develop and implement compliance frameworks, policies, and internal controls.
- Act as the primary liaison with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and other regulators.
- Collaborate closely with global teams across Europe and Asia to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Represent the Hong Kong office in cross-border compliance discussions and audits.
- Travel internationally for meetings, training, and strategic planning.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of compliance experience in financial services or fintech.
- Direct experience with Hong Kong MSO licensing is essential.
- Strong understanding of AML, KYC, and local regulatory frameworks.
- Highly fluent in English (spoken and written); Chinese language skills are a strong advantage.
- Comfortable working independently and building local operations from the ground up.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed.
