US Bank - Compliance Advisory VP
CLIENT BACKGROUND
I am partnering with a reputable commercial bank that is actively expanding its Private Banking and Investment Banking businesses in Hong Kong. As part of this strategic growth, the bank is seeking an experienced Compliance Advisory VP to strengthen its compliance governance and provide high‑quality advisory support across multiple business lines. This role reports directly to the Head of Compliance and offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders and cross‑border initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Deliver day‑to‑day compliance advisory support to both Private Banking and Investment Banking teams.
- Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements relating to investment products, suitability, sales practices, client onboarding, and capital markets activities.
- Assess new products, client segments, and business initiatives to ensure alignment with local regulations and internal compliance frameworks.
- Monitor regulatory developments and contribute to enhancements in policies, controls, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
- Partner closely with front‑office, risk, legal, and operations teams to provide practical guidance that balances commercial needs with regulatory expectations.
- Support the Head of Compliance on thematic reviews, regulatory engagements, and key compliance projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in compliance advisory, ideally covering both Private Banking and Investment Banking activities.
- Strong background with international banks, with a solid understanding of global and Hong Kong regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders and navigate complex regulatory issues in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with Mandarin‑ or Cantonese‑speaking stakeholders.
- Independent, detail‑minded, and able to deliver sound judgment in a commercially sensitive setting.
