Recently recapitalized and expanding its independent power platform, the organization is executing meaningful project M&A while advancing a robust pipeline across several RTOs.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic General Counsel to lead its legal function and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. This role will provide highlevel legal guidance across all business units, support the company's growth initiatives, and oversee legal risk management, compliance, project development, and corporate governance.

This is a handson role within a nimble, dynamic organization where the General Counsel will have a significant impact on both daytoday operations and longterm strategy.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Lead and mentor the legal team while overseeing outside counsel as needed.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance across M&A, project development, commercial transactions, and corporate functions.
  • Manage legal issues throughout the lifecycle of renewable energy projects, including development, construction, operations, and financing.
  • Develop and implement legal and riskmitigation strategies that support business objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify legal risks proactively and deliver practical, businessoriented solutions to senior leadership.
  • Ensure agreements, processes, and decisions align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and financing obligations.
  • Bring deep expertise in corporate law, project finance, M&A, and renewable energy development, with proven leadership experience.
  • Hold 10-15+ years of relevant legal experience, strong communication skills, and a J.D. with active bar licensure.
