General Counsel @ PE Owned SaaS Company
A Private Equity owned SaaS company has exclusively retained Larson Maddox on the first in house counsel/General Counsel search. This business recently received a significant majority investment from one of the biggest PE investors in the SaaS sector.
This is an opportunity to lay the ground work of the legal deparment and embeded yourself with key stakeholders across the buisness as a new period of growth begins. While the role will report to the COO on paper, it will provide exposure and significant face to face time with the CEO and rest of the Executive Leadership Team.
This role can sit fully remote with occasional travel across the US.
The ideal candidate for this role has experience supporting the following:
- Commercial/GTM Support: Drafting and negotiating a high volume of SaaS agreements with customers. Working alongside sales and enterprise teams internally.
- Contract Management: Help put in place contract management systems that will optimize the scaling of the business.
- Product/Privacy/AI: Work alongside product, privacy, and engineering teams to identify key risks and data protection concerns from early stage through GTM
- Corporate Governance/M&A: Advise on corporate and transactional matters as needed. Please note anything in this lane will have outside counsel support.
- Employment/Labor: Support outside HR Counsel on related matters.
The ideal candidate will have a background that looks like:
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience (mix of law firm and in house at a SaaS startup strongly preferred)
- JD and eligible to practice in the US
- Previously a General Counsel or strong exposure to legal leadership in past roles.
