A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join its growing Construction and General Liability practice. Position Overview
The firm is looking for an attorney with significant litigation experience to join a well established team handling a broad range of matters including general liability, construction related claims, transportation, and casualty litigation. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex matters while collaborating with experienced attorneys and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a caseload involving insurance defense, general liability, transportation liability, and New York Labor Law construction matters
- Handle depositions, court appearances, and motion practice
- Collaborate with attorneys and partners on litigation strategy and case development
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and strategic guidance
- Contribute to a team oriented environment focused on high quality legal service
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar
- Minimum of 8 years of litigation experience
- Experience with insurance defense, premises liability, and general liability matters
- First or second chair trial experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of New York Labor Law Sections 200, 240, and 241 preferred
- Experience with OSHA matters or regulatory compliance is a plus
- Background in government litigation roles such as Corporation Counsel or District Attorney is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Proficiency with legal research tools and case management systems
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range of 170,000 to 225,000 USD
- Eligibility for discretionary bonus
