Charges Counsel
This role offers a rare opportunity for Labor & Employment attorneys with six or more years of experience who want substantive legal work, meaningful autonomy, and genuine flexibility-without giving up the sophistication or resources of a top‑tier legal organization. The position is fully remote, features a reduced billable‑hour target (1500-1750), and may be performed anywhere in California with an active CA bar license. You will take full ownership of defending administrative agency charges and attorney demand letters from initial assessment through final resolution. This involves direct client communication, strategic evaluation, and producing high‑quality written advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
In this Labor & Employment Counsel role, you will independently manage a docket of administrative matters, including:
- Preparing compelling and strategic position statements
- Responding to agency information requests
- Leading mediations and settlement negotiations remotely
- Communicating directly with clients and administrative agencies
- Guiding matters from investigation through closure

Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range is $140,000-$165,000, depending on experience and education, with eligibility for performance‑based bonuses. A comparable fully remote EPLI‑focused role is also available, with compensation up to $240,000 for qualified applicants.
