Assistant Director - Ethics & Compliance

Location: Minnesota (Hybrid)

Reports To: Senior Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer

Salary Range: $160,000-$220,000

Position Summary

Our client, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking an Assistant Director of Ethics & Compliance to lead the organization's ethics and compliance programs. This individual will ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies while providing strategic oversight, guidance, and enforcement of compliance standards across the enterprise. The role is instrumental in fostering a culture of integrity and ethical business practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the corporate compliance and ethics program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Regulatory Oversight: Ensure conformance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards across all jurisdictions in which the company operates, including international markets.

  • Consultation & Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and operational leaders on ethics and compliance matters.

  • Training & Awareness: Design and oversee ongoing ethics and compliance training programs for employees at all levels.

  • Policy Development: Establish and maintain policies and procedures that promote ethical conduct and regulatory compliance.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Oversee key compliance functions, including the Ethics & Compliance Hotline Program, Training & Policy Governance, Records and Information Management, Data Privacy Governance, Fraud Detection & Prevention, Third-Party Risk Management, and FPCA-related activities.

  • Ethics & Governance: Champion ethical standards and corporate governance practices throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in compliance, ethics, legal, or regulatory affairs within a medium‑to‑large public company.

  • Proven leadership experience managing cross‑functional compliance programs.

  • Advanced degree or certification (JD, CCEP, CPA, etc.) preferred.

  • Experience leading an Ethics & Compliance team.

  • Deep knowledge of corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and compliance best practices.

  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex compliance risks and implement effective controls.

  • Experience in Data Privacy Governance.

  • Ability to travel internationally approximately once per year.
