Assistant General Counsel, FDA Regulatory & Commercial
We are partnered with a leading biopharmaceutical company who is looking to bring on an experienced product attorney to their growing team. This position will offer the opportunity to be a part of a best-in-class legal team contributing to the commercialization of their global product portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic, business‑focused legal and risk counseling across product lifecycles, including development, labeling, commercialization, advertising & promotion, and drug safety.
- Serve as a core legal advisor to cross‑functional teams (commercial, medical affairs, regulatory, HEOR, corporate affairs, compliance), offering guidance on brand strategy, medical planning, and scientific exchange.
- Support all aspects of product commercialization, including launch planning/execution, market development, disease awareness, communications, and promotional review.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies while coordinating with global legal teams (litigation, IP, Compliance, Transactions) to deliver integrated legal support.
Qualifications
- JD with strong academic credentials; licensed in New York or eligible for in‑house counsel registration, with 10+ years of legal experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare law.
- Prior in‑house experience at a biotech or pharmaceutical company, preferably as a product attorney.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and influence stakeholders across levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, build strong client relationships, assess risk in regulated environments, and apply strong analytical and scientific reasoning skills.
