Data Privacy Lawyer
Larson Maddox is partnering with an international financial services business that is continuing to invest heavily in its legal and compliance infrastructure and is now looking to add a Data Privacy lawyer to the team.
This role sits at the center of how the business operates, touching product development, client relationships, and expansion into new markets. You would be working closely with senior legal leadership and have genuine input into how privacy frameworks are shaped globally.
Responsibilities
- Taking ownership of privacy matters across the organization, helping shape and refine a consistent global approach
- Advising on the practical impact of data laws as the business enters new jurisdictions
- Working alongside commercial and product teams on agreements involving data usage, client platforms, and new services
- Acting as a sounding board on data-related client issues, including rights requests and regulatory obligations
- Supporting the rollout of new offerings by identifying and managing privacy considerations early
- Keeping pace with developments across data regulation, including areas like AI and evolving user rights
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 10 years' experience focused on data protection or privacy
- Background in a strong private practice team or a relevant in-house setting
- Qualification in Portugal
- Someone who is comfortable operating independently while still collaborating closely with the wider business
- Commercial judgement and the ability to translate technical regulation into practical guidance
