Special Counsel - EPLI
A leading Am Law 100 firm with one of the most highly respected Labor & Employment groups in the nation is seeking a Partner or Counsel with deep employment litigation experience to join its expanding California team. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced litigator to focus on high-impact work in a collaborative environment - without the pressure of developing business or meeting excessive billable demands.
This role is ideally suited for attorneys who are passionate about practicing law and delivering excellent client service, and who appreciate the flexibility of working remotely with the resources of a top-tier national firm behind them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing administrative charges, attorney demand letters, and single-plaintiff litigation.
- Developing case strategies, drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting depositions, and representing clients at hearings, conferences, and trials.
- Collaborating with other attorneys and legal staff, including paralegals, in a supportive and team-oriented environment.
- Handling a mix of cases, such as class actions, PAGA cases, and other labor and employment law matters.
- Maintaining a focus on efficient, high-quality legal work without business development pressures or additional non-billable hour demands.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar admission in good standing (CA or WA preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of labor and employment litigation experience, including case management and client interaction.
- Strong written and verbal advocacy skills with the ability to handle matters autonomously.
- Experience working with EPLI matters is highly preferred.
- Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a remote or hybrid work environment.
