Position Overview

A leading mortgage servicer is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their dynamic legal team and serve as a key advisor on matters related to intellectual property (IP), technology transactions, and broader corporate legal issues. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with a strong background in IP law and a passion for supporting business growth through strategic legal guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, licensing, and enforcement.
  • Advise on technology-related contracts, including software licensing, SaaS agreements, and vendor negotiations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and protect proprietary assets and innovations.
  • Support compliance with federal and state regulations affecting mortgage servicing and financial technology.
  • Assist with general corporate legal matters, including governance, risk management, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Manage external counsel relationships as needed for specialized IP litigation or filings.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong emphasis on intellectual property law.
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or mortgage servicing is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
