Senior Counsel - Global Regulatory Compliance
Position Summary
We are looking to hire an experienced attorney to lead global compliance, privacy, regulatory, and ESG initiatives for a multinational automotive company. This role advises executives and partners across 20+ countries to ensure compliance with international laws, industry standards, and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance & Regulation:
Develop and oversee global compliance programs; advise on anti-bribery, competition law, export controls; support audits and risk assessments. - Privacy & Data Protection:
Manage global privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA, China); guide data governance, cross-border transfers, and cybersecurity. - Environmental & ESG:
Ensure environmental compliance; advise on sustainability, ESG reporting, and corporate responsibility. - Governance & Ethics:
Promote ethical practices; support compliance and privacy training. - Collaboration:
Work with HR, Finance, Engineering, and Operations; manage external counsel and regulatory relationships.
Qualifications
- JD from accredited U.S. law school; active bar license.
- 5+ years legal experience, preferably in automotive/manufacturing industry.
- Expertise in global compliance, privacy, and/or environmental law.
- Previous in-house counsel experience at a global company.
- Familiarity with the automotive industry and product lifecycle compliance.
- Experience with M&A due diligence and integration from a compliance perspective.
