Our Client

Our client is seeking an attorney with a minimum of 4 years of labor and employment law experience to join its Kansas City office. This role is ideal for someone who has built a strong foundation in L&E work and is ready to take on more substantial responsibility in a supportive and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will bring excellent academic credentials, strong judgment, and the ability to manage a mix of litigation and advisory matters. Candidates should have significant experience handling employment-related disputes, including drafting motions, supporting discovery, taking depositions, and working directly with clients. This position offers the opportunity to work with a sophisticated client base, contribute to strategic decision‑making, and further develop expertise in a nationally recognized labor and employment practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support labor & employment litigation matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour issues, and other employment disputes.
  • Draft and refine motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and case strategy discussions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and provide actionable recommendations to senior attorneys and clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and deliver timely, high-quality legal work.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic performance.
  • 4+ years of labor & employment experience, including meaningful litigation involvement.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in both Missouri and Kansas.
  • Exceptional writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
