VP Counsel Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced EV Charging Counsel to join their legal team and lead efforts related to EV charging infrastructure development worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of energy law, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiation, with a specific focus on electric vehicle charging. VP Counsel Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with government contracts, tax incentives, and regulations relevant to EV charging infrastructure projects.
- Draft, review, and negotiate government contracts, tax incentive agreements, and B2B fleet contracts for EV charging initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk mitigation.
- Advocate for supportive policies with government agencies and industry stakeholders, providing legal analysis and strategic guidance on legislative initiatives affecting government contracts and B2B fleet operations.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with government contracts and B2B fleet agreements, advising internal teams on proactive measures to protect the company's interests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development and implementation of EV charging projects targeting government agencies and B2B fleet operators.
- Manage legal disputes related to government contracts and B2B fleet agreements, employing negotiation, mediation, and litigation strategies as needed to safeguard the company's reputation and interests.
VP Counsel Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
- Extensive experience practicing law, with a focus on energy law, infrastructure development, or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge of global EV charging regulations, permitting processes, and industry best practices.
- Proven track record of negotiating complex contracts and agreements in diverse legal and cultural contexts.
