A renewable energy company and leader in the deployment of renewable energy and energy storage projects is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Paralegal to join the legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in various aspects of drafting various real estate agreements, title review, identifying title curative items, and closing purchase and sale transactions.
As a Senior Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting the General Counsel, organizing and managing legal documents, facilitating signatures, and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of legal services for all teams. This position requires a proactive and adaptable individual who is committed to working collaboratively with team members and is willing to undertake diverse tasks as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist all phases of legal review, including drafting and reviewing real estate agreements, confidentiality agreements, and various legal documents.
- Coordinate due diligence efforts, including reviewing and organizing documents, and conducting
- research investigations, such as title review, surveys, zoning, and land use analysis, to identify potential issues and risks associated with real estate transactions.
- Organize, maintain, and manage legal documents and files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and
- compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Communicate and work cross-functionally with other team members, clients, outside counsels, and other parties involved in transactions to coordinate efforts, provide updates, and address inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on real estate laws, regulations, and precedents in preparation, strategy development, and decision-making processes.
- Stay abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Collaborate effectively with with outside counsels and support staff to prioritize tasks, allocate
- resources effectively, and streamline workflow processes.
- Perform various administrative tasks, such as calendaring, billing, and file management, to support the overall operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on real estate law is preferred.
- Previous work experience in the renewable energy industry is a plus and preferable.
- Proficiency in legal research, document drafting, and case management software/tools.
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Fluent in MSOffice Applications.
- Experience with Expensify, Slack and Monday.com would be a plus.
