A Fortune 300 company in the comprehensive environmental solutions space, specializing in solid and hazardous waste management and a broad range of other environmental services is looking to expand their dynamic and highly regarded legal team. More specifically, they are looking to bring on a Senior Corporate Counsel focused in employment. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in employment law, with a strong background in handling wage and hour class actions, harassment claims, and other employment-related matters. This role will be crucial in managing legal risks and providing strategic guidance on employment law issues across the organization.
The Senior Corporate Counsel will:
Provide expert legal counsel on all aspects of employment law, including wage and hour regulations, harassment claims, and employee relations matters.
Oversee and manage employment-related litigation, including wage and hour class actions, harassment single plaintiff cases, and other employment disputes. Coordinate with external counsel as needed and handle case strategy and resolution.
Develop, review, and implement company policies and procedures related to employment practices, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Advise on complex employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, terminations, and investigations. Provide guidance on handling sensitive employee matters and fostering a positive work environment.
Work closely with HR, management, and other departments to support employment-related matters and align legal strategies with business objectives.
The Senior Corporate Counsel must have:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in employment law, with a proven track record of handling wage and hour class actions, harassment claims, and other employment-related issues. Experience in an in-house corporate counsel role is preferred.
