The Reinsurance Accountant will play a pivotal role within the cash accounting team, with a specific focus on the Latin American and Caribbean regions. Responsibilities will encompass, but not be restricted to:
- Monitoring, gathering, and reconciling cash receipts for treaty account balances.
- Gathering balances for facultative business accounts and collaborating with underwriters to reconcile any discrepancies.
- Analyzing treaty outcomes and their impact on overall financials to generate insightful information for management.
- Overseeing and managing accounts receivable/payable by generating monthly trial balance reports to validate balances with clients/brokers.
- Proficiency in understanding accounting procedures and controls to implement enhancements and streamline processes.
- Collaborating with colleagues from various departments to address and resolve issues.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or auditing.
- Proficiency in both written and oral English and Spanish.
- Previous accounting experience in the (re)insurance sector is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Ability to analyze data and propose process improvements.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and vlookup.
- Experience working with cloud/server-based software.
