A leading IPP and infrastructure compant is seeking a Regulatory Attorney with a focus on environmental compliance, litigation support, and permitting to join their impressive team. This role will involve working closely with power plants across the Northeast to ensure compliance with EPA regulations, state laws, and CCR regulations. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of relevant experience and a strong understanding of environmental law as it pertains to energy production.
The Regulatory Attorney will:
Advise clients on compliance with federal and state environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and RCRA.
Provide legal support in environmental litigation matters, including preparing briefs, motions, and other legal documents. Represent clients in administrative hearings and negotiations with regulatory agencies.
Guide clients through the permitting process for environmental approvals, ensuring all applications meet regulatory requirements and are submitted in a timely manner.
Conduct thorough research and analysis of evolving environmental regulations and policies, providing strategic guidance to clients on potential impacts.
Travel to various power plant sites to conduct assessments, facilitate compliance audits, and support permitting efforts.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in a state within the Northeast U.S.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in environmental law, with a focus on compliance and permitting.
- Strong understanding of EPA regulations, state environmental laws, and CCR regulations.
- Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Willingness to travel to power plant sites regularly.
