Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to join our team as an Insurance Regulatory Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with insurance regulations and managing various transactions within the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of insurance laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Stay abreast of changes in insurance laws and regulations at both the state and federal levels. Interpret and analyze regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Oversee and manage various insurance transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and regulatory filings. Coordinate with legal, compliance, and other internal teams to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
- Prepare and submit insurance license applications and other regulatory filings as required. Ensure all licensing requirements are met and maintain accurate records of licenses and approvals.
- Review insurance policies and contracts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Provide guidance on regulatory implications of policy changes and updates.
- Conduct risk assessments related to insurance regulatory compliance and transactions. Identify potential regulatory risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Maintain accurate records of regulatory filings, transactions, and compliance activities. Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor and license to practice in Missouri or Kansas
- 5+ years of experience in insurance regulatory compliance, transactions, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of insurance laws and regulations, including but not limited to, state insurance codes, NAIC regulations, and federal laws (e.g., ACA, HIPAA).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
