We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Manager (or VP, if experienced) to join our team and oversee responsibilities related to energy compliance, risk management, and overall controllership in our national energy transactions. In this role, you will collaborate with business partners to ensure the proper execution of our programs and supervise both internal and external reporting. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience, demonstrating a proven track record in planning, launching, and executing initiatives in response to identified challenges. Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to regulations, obligations, and internal policies within our portfolio.
Develop processes for monitoring and reporting compliance metrics, taking corrective actions as needed.
Manage, track, and report on the status of compliance filings.
Establish and maintain a government contract compliance program.
Stay abreast of and comply with evolving technical laws and regulations affecting our portfolio.
Lead assurance and consulting engagements related to compliance matters.
Oversee and coordinate the implementation of energy-related compliance activities nationally, in collaboration with development, EPC, and regulatory teams.
Create, iterate, and monitor operating guardrails for energy operations as part of our risk management initiatives.
Plan and execute initiatives to enhance energy operations and reporting.
Maintain, update, and track documents and data related to executed contracts.
Conduct audits and report on compliance with contract milestones and other deliverables.
Identify and assess potential terms, conditions, and contractual risks, providing recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in business, energy, paralegal studies, or a related field.
JD degree, admission to, and good standing with one or more state Bars required.
5+ years of relevant work experience with an IPP, owner operator, electric utility, energy supplier, or energy-intensive industrial or consumer company.
Extensive knowledge of commercial, contractual, technical, and practical aspects of energy industry standards, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
Experience in compliance or risk management, particularly within the power or energy sectors.
Proven ability to mitigate contractual risk.
Subject matter expertise/experience with US government contracting practices and procedures.
