Our client is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Counsel to join their legal team in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area. As a leading Asset Management Firm, they manage a globally diversified portfolio of investments across public equities, credit, alternative investments, and real property assets. The ideal candidate has an established background in general Corporate Governance, Private Funds, or Transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business leaders, provide legal advice, and manage external counsel on a wide range of matters arising in the operation of a large, SEC-registered investment firm
- Lead strategic initiatives, manage workstreams, review contracts, and create best practices in a collaborative, team-oriented manner
- Be cognizant of legal developments and help ensure the firm meets or exceeds legal and regulatory standards and remains informed of market practice
- Work closely with Senior Management on existing deals and structure
Qualifications:
- 3-6+ years of corporate experience in either Big Law or In-House
- Prior experience and knowledge of the Asset Management industry
- Juris Doctor (J.D) required from a top Law school in the US
- Strong understanding of Investment Management transactions
- Local to or willing to relocate to the greater Los Angeles area
