Our client, a leading property & casualty insurance organization, is seeking an accomplished professional to serve as the Surplus Lines Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP). This role is available in multiple U.S. locations and follows a hybrid schedule requiring three days per week in office.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Surplus Lines DRLP to oversee surplus lines licensing compliance, regulatory adherence, and internal control standards across a broad, multi‑jurisdictional footprint. The DRLP will serve as a key governance leader, ensuring surplus lines transactions are executed in accordance with state laws, regulatory obligations, and enterprise compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surplus lines compliance management - Oversee affidavits, disclosures, stamping office submissions, broker‑responsible forms, policy documentation, and record retention.

  • Regulatory monitoring - Track state regulatory bulletins, assess operational impacts, and maintain filing calendars.

  • Premium tax oversight - Monitor state premium tax requirements, coordinate with Finance on remittance, and ensure adherence to filing deadlines.

  • Audit and examination support - Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory examinations conducted by state departments of insurance.

  • Governance and reporting - Contribute to governance forums and deliver operational metrics to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Active P&C, Surplus Lines, and A&H licenses

  • Demonstrated experience executing DRLP filings and attestations

  • Experience supporting regulatory exams, audits, and premium tax reporting

  • Strong technical knowledge of:

    • State licensing requirements

    • Surplus lines regulations

    • Premium tax obligations

    • NIPR and state filing systems

  • 5+ years of experience in general insurance, surplus lines, or regulatory compliance

  • Background in operational risk, internal controls, or governance

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for executive‑level presentations

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment

This role is offered in multiple U.S. office locations and follows a hybrid schedule requiring three days per week onsite.
