Senior Litigation Counsel
An Established Insurance Brokerage is in search of a Senior Litigation Counsel to become a key player in its growing Legal Department. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker with deep experience in restrictive covenant disputes-covering non-compete, non-solicitation, and confidentiality matters-and a strong background in guiding hiring decisions in competitive markets.
You'll be at the forefront of litigation strategy, representing the company in court and shaping outcomes that protect the company's business interests. This opportunity provides a fully remote work schedule, as well as a competitive compensation package.
While this role is fully remote, it is required that qualified candidates be located in the LA metro area and be barred in California.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive litigation from start to finish, including restrictive covenant and contractual disputes, ensuring successful resolution through hearings, motions, and trials
- Represent the company in court proceedings and advocate effectively in front of judges and arbitrators
- Advise on hiring practices and onboarding strategies to mitigate risk in sensitive recruitment scenarios
- Draft, review, and negotiate settlement agreements and other dispute-related documents
- Oversee outside counsel relationships, managing budgets, case strategy, and performance
- Provide proactive guidance to leadership on litigation exposure, risk management, and dispute avoidance
- Develop strategies for arbitration and alternative dispute resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks early and align legal strategies with business objectives
- Deliver regular litigation updates to senior leadership and contribute to process improvements in litigation management
- Stay ahead of legal trends and regulatory changes impacting the organization
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active membership with the California State Bar
- 7+ years of litigation experience, including restrictive covenant and complex commercial disputes
- Proven courtroom advocacy skills and ability to manage cases independently
- Strong strategic thinking with a knack for balancing legal, financial, and reputational considerations
- Unwavering integrity, sound judgment, and ethical decision-making
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
