Larson Maddox has been instructed to recruit an Associate for the Restructuring & Insolvency practice of a leading International law firm.
This opportunity offers the chance to join a highly regarded team advising lenders, creditors, investors, insolvency administrators, distressed companies and shareholders on complex restructuring and insolvency matters. The team is involved in high-profile national and cross-border mandates, combining transactional, financing, litigation and advisory work.
The role can be based in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf or Hamburg.
The Role
You will advise clients across a broad range of restructuring and insolvency matters, including:
- Corporate restructurings and turnaround situations
- Distressed M&A transactions
- Insolvency proceedings and insolvency-related advisory work
- StaRUG and preventive restructuring proceedings
- Financial restructurings and recapitalisations
- Debt restructurings and refinancing transactions
- Creditor and lender representation
- Acquisition and disposal of distressed businesses and assets
- Insolvency plan proceedings
- Directors' duties and liability matters in crisis situations
- Restructuring-related litigation and dispute resolution
- Cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters
- Coordinating multidisciplinary matters alongside Corporate, Finance, Real Estate and Employment teams
You will work closely with experienced market-leading practitioners while gaining significant responsibility and direct exposure to clients from an early stage. The team regularly advises on some of Germany's most significant restructuring and insolvency mandates across a variety of industries.
This is an excellent opportunity for lawyers looking to develop expertise in one of the most dynamic areas of the legal market.
Candidate Profile
We are looking to speak with lawyers who have:
- 0-5 years' PQE
- Experience in restructuring, insolvency, banking & finance, corporate/M&A, litigation or a related practice area
- Experience gained at a leading international or well-regarded German law firm
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent analytical and drafting skills
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to client work
- Fluent German and strong English language skills
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
