Regulatory Counsel
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on digital asset regulatory frameworks and licensing regimes in offshore jurisdictions such as the British Virgin Islands, Gibraltar, and the Cayman Islands.
- Lead or support license application processes, including coordination with local counsel and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments across offshore and onshore markets, with a particular focus on SFC regulations in Hong Kong.
- Provide legal guidance on product structuring, operational models, and jurisdictional risk.
- Collaborate with internal teams across legal, compliance, product, and executive functions to ensure regulatory alignment and readiness.
Ideal Candidate:
- 5-10 years PQE with a strong foundation in financial regulatory law, ideally with exposure to digital assets, fintech, or funds.
- Demonstrated experience advising on offshore regulatory regimes and licensing processes.
- Familiarity with Hong Kong's SFC framework and its application to digital asset businesses.
- Strong commercial judgment and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.
- Legal qualification in a common law jurisdiction preferred.
