An exciting opportunity has arisen for an associate to join our client's highly rated Real Estate Disputes team. This is a high‑performing group that has maintained a ranking in Chambers and Legal 500 for many years.
The team manages a sophisticated caseload of real estate disputes and advisory matters, acting on complex, high‑stakes issues across all levels of the UK court system, including the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. They advise leading institutional landlords, developers, investors, corporate occupiers, and financial institutions on strategic risk and contentious matters.
The team handles the full spectrum of real estate disputes, including:
* Sale and purchase disputes
* Development and joint venture disputes
* Landlord and tenant matters, including complex 1954 Act claims, rent arrears, dilapidations, and forfeiture
* Property insolvency disputes
* Professional negligence claims
* Rights of light issues
* Telecommunications Code advice and disputes
* Protestor and trespass matters
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a varied caseload while delivering strategic, commercially focused advice
* Delegating work to and supervising trainees and paralegals, and contributing to the wider team's knowledge base through thought leadership, training, and presentations
* Building strong relationships with clients, intermediaries, and colleagues across UK and international offices
* Taking client instructions and ensuring a full understanding of their objectives
* Ensuring all matters and files are appropriately supervised, progressed, and managed to a high standard
