The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a National Litigation & Claims Management Attorney to join its team in New York, NY or Chicago. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely, in a hybrid arrangement, or in-office. The role is ideal for an experienced litigator who enjoys operating at the intersection of litigation strategy, claims management, and risk mitigation on a national scale.
Rather than managing a traditional local litigation docket, this position focuses on overseeing nationwide claims and litigation matters, coordinating outside counsel, developing discovery strategies, and partnering directly with a sophisticated national logistics client.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a nationwide litigation and claims portfolio from inception through resolution.
- Evaluate claims, assess exposure, and provide strategic recommendations regarding litigation and settlement.
- Develop and implement discovery strategies across multiple jurisdictions.
- Identify litigation, discovery, and operational risks and recommend solutions.
- Coordinate and oversee outside counsel handling matters throughout the country.
- Partner directly with clients, attorneys, and stakeholders on litigation strategy and case management.
- Analyze claims trends and recommend proactive risk management initiatives.
- Prepare reports and presentations regarding litigation exposure, performance metrics, and resolution strategies.
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices and practice groups to ensure seamless client service.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active bar admission and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of litigation experience.
- Strong discovery management experience required.
- Experience handling complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation matters preferred.
- Prior claims management, litigation management, or risk management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience within transportation, logistics, trucking, insurance, or related industries is a plus.
- Strong client counseling, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Compensation: $170,000 - $225,000 base salary plus an annual and quarterly bonus. Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other business considerations.
